Change owner of a case – manually
Any participant in a case can either claim or be given ownership (be responsible for the patient) of a case, if the case and the participants belong to the same unit. Learn more about ownership of cases.
How to change owner of a case – manually
- Go to the case view for a patient.
- Click on the arrow next to the name of the participant you want to have ownership of the case (it can not be the current owner).
- Select “Make owner”.
- The new owner is now responsible for the patient. It is marked by the crown-icon next to their name.
For the new owner, the case is moved from “My consultations” to “My ongoing cases”.
For the previous owner, the case is moved from “My ongoing cases” to “My consultations”. The previous owner is now taking part as a consultant in the case.
You can also set yourself to owner
Setting yourself as owner of a case where you are already participating, can signal to colleagues that you will handle the case from now on, and that they can leave the case if they wish to.
Limits of ownership
If a user is consulting from another unit, they have limited access and can not take ownership a case themselves.
If the owner of a case tries to change ownership to an external consultant, the platform will trigger the Handover feature. The owner will be guided to handover the case to the external consultant’s unit.
